Trails at Brittany Neighborhood History
The first phase of theTrails at Brittany subdivision was initially plated in 1995 by the local developers George T. Shapland, Thomas H. Harrington, and Josef Hallbeck. The Articles of Incorporation for the Trails at Brittany Homeowners Association were filed in 1999 and listed Daniel G. Harrington as the Registered Agent and as Directors, George T. Shapland, Thomas E. Harrington, and Josef Hallbeck.
The administration of the Homeowners Association was turned over to the residents in 2011. ​The seven phases were established by the filing of the plats and Covenants with the Champaign County Clerk on the following dates:

The final empty lot in the subdivision was built into a home in 2024. There are 170 lots and 168 homes (two homes sit on double-lots).

In September, 2022, the FIRST COMBINED, REVISED AND RESTATED COVENANTS were approved by the residents of Trails at Brittany. For the first time all homeowners were subject to the same set of Covenants and all lots were subject to the same criteria for the annual fees.
